MARFA #25

With one hell of a hello, we welcome eight new polka-dot MARFA #25 covers for an issue full of actors talking amongst themselves. Conversations include Regina Hall with Chloé Sevigny, Rashida Jones reunited with long-time friend Natalie Portman, Sentimental Value star Inga Ibsdotter Lileaas with Eva Victor, and returning cover stars Stacy Martin with Renate Reinsve. We also nip to Paris to photograph the one and only Natalia Vodianova, make a pilgrimage to Arizona to meet the provocateur Eric Kroll and find newbie Kris Krystal at a London art gallery. And finally, we visit Glaswegian painter France-Lise McGurn’s funky studio with a bevy of beauties and fashions. You like the sound of that and want to know more? In MARFA #25, we learn about the mysteries of etymology from 14-year-old spelling bee champion Faizan Zaki, share an intimate email exchange with writer Saou Ichikawa, stop by Hollywood blockbuster screenwriter and producer Peter Iliff’s and sit in on an SMS chat between artists Ella Kruglyanskaya and Anthea Hamilton. All this closes on a tribute to actor Udo Kier, our would-be cover star, from his friend John Waters.Contributions this issue come from Angela Hill, Oliver Hadlee Pearch, Andre Walker, Mel Arter, Jonathan Frantini, Alexandra Gordienko, Eric Kroll, Pascal Gambarte, John Waters, Danielle Neu, Matilda Sadeghi, François Gravel, Delphine Danhier, Valeria Herklotz, Danny Reed, Charlotte Stouvenot,Alice Neale,Vanessa Reid, OlimpiaTaliani de Marchio, Emilie Kareh and plenty of other profoundly talented people.
