Author: Ed Atkins & Steven Zultanski
A collaborative book by artist Ed Atkins and poet Steven Zultanski, Sorcerer is a play about the pleasures of being with others and of being alone. Three friends hang out and share a long and unremarkable conversation. The characters find contentment in each other’s company, conversing in the placid, eerie rhythms of a sitcom in which conflict never arises. When two of the friends go home for the night, the remaining one watches TV, dances, and takes apart their face in front of a giant mirror.Sorcerer was commissioned by and originally staged at Copenhagen’s Revolver Theatre in March 2022. A feature-length film adaptation of the stage production, also directed by Atkins and Zultanski, has been screened in European galleries and will be screened in the UK this autumn.
ISBN 9781913513498. Prototype Publishing. pb. 144 pages. 17.6 x 10.8 cm.
