Boris Lurie: Adieu Amerique

Boris Lurie was born in Leningrad in 1924 and grew up in Riga. In 1945 he escaped from the Nazi concentration camp Buchenwald and migrated to the USA. With Sam Goodman and Stanley Fisher he started the No!art movement. Lurie saw art as a tool of radical criticism of consumer society, war and nuclear proliferation. This volume accompanies an exhibition of Lurie's sometimes disturbing photocollages at CAMERA - Centro Italiano per la Fotografia in Turin.
