YoVa was established in 2005 as an initiative to support young Viennese architects from the City of Vienna. In November 2014, eleven young Viennese architectural and landscape architectural practices were selected from applications submitted under the jury chaired by Bart Lootsma. In addition to a juried application process, participating architects must be under the age of 45, have a practice based in Vienna, and have realized at least one project there.
