Fable Animals' draws on the Panchatantra – an ancient Indian collection of fables that predates Aesop – in which animal characters are used to teach complex lessons to human beings. An animal in these wisdom tales is both itself, as well as a shorthand for a particular human archetype. Each animal in this limited edition book is rendered in the style of a particular art tradition in India and includes writings on Indian traditional art and fables. Silkscreened, bound by hand on handmade paper.
