The Bologna Children's Book Fair's Illustrators Exhibition is one of the most important global events in the field of illustration and in its more than 50 years of history, it has featured the work of many of the leading figures in children's publishing. This year's edition brings together 78 artists, serving as a comprehensive catalogue offering a panorama of the illustrated universe, with a selection of images that follow the common thread of creativity and the pursuit of great emotional impact.The five members of this year's jury – Barroux (illustrator and author), Nana Furiya (illustrator and author), Agata Loth-Ignaciuk (founder of the publishing house Druganoga), Irene Savino (graphic designer, illustrator and art director of Ediciones Ekaré) and Valerio Vidali (illustrator and author) – viewed the work of over 3800 illustrators from 92 countries around the world, making a selection that reflects the future of illustration worldwide.The 2022 cover was designed by the illustrator Elena Odriozola, winner of the Grand Prix BIB 2021. In alternate years, the cover is designed by the winners of the H. C. Andersen Award and the Grand Prix of the Biennale of Illustration in Bratislava, making the book a real collector's item for all fans. In addition to the selected works, the volume presents the contributions of the five members of the jury and includes a contribution by the great designer and illustrator Noma Bar.
