Brazilian painter and printmaker Judith Lauand (born 1922) is regarded as a key figure of Concrete art. This survey follows Lauand’s tremendous oeuvre across five decades, paying particular attention to her engagement with the Concrete movement. Lauand is the only woman to have participated in Grupo Ruptura, a collective of artists that pioneered Concretism in Brazil, which counted such luminaries as Waldemar Cordeiro, Luiz Sacilotto, Geraldo de Barros, Lotar Charoux and Anatol Wladyslaw among its ranks.
